Mumbai: Bollywood stars seem to be reigning when it comes to filing the income tax returns.
Among celebrities, Shah Rukh Khan is right at the top having paid Rs 34.45 crore last year. Akshay Kumar comes second with Rs 33 crore but is expected to beat SRK this year as he has already paid Rs 4.5 crore in the first six months as compared to SRK`s Rs 3.5 crore.

Shah Rukh and Akshay are followed by Salman at the third spot. The Khan has paid an amount a little over Rs 14 crore last year and Hrithik Roshan is at No 4 having paid Rs 14 crore. Hrithik, however, has already paid Rs 3.5 crore advance tax this year in the first six months, with Salman lagging behind at Rs 2.5 crore in the income projection.

And, who is the surprise entrant into the top league this year? Well, it is none other than Aamir Khan at No 5, who quite interestingly has projected an income much higher than Salman and Hrithik. In fact, with Rs 3.5 crore worth of tax payments paid well in advance in the first half of this year, he is equal only to Shah Rukh.

Recession seems to be not over for these celebrities yet for the income projections of this year are far below their last year`s projected income (going by their advance tax payments for the first half). For example, while SRK had paid Rs 15 crore in the first six months of 2008-09, he has paid only Rs 3.5 crore in the same period this year, similarly Akshay had paid Rs 8 crore last year and he has paid Rs 4.5 crore for the same period this year.

American director Paul Schrader wants to make an out-and-out Bollywood film and he wants Priyanka Chopra and Shah Rukh Khan to star in it.

He is all praise for actress Priyanka Chopra though his favourites are light-eyed beauties Aishwarya Rai and Kareena Kapoor. 'Her sex appeal is good enough for her to make it big on the international circuit. And she is very talented. I would love to work with her. I think she is the next big thing in Bollywood.' He wants to work to SRK, who hasn't agreed to star in his film as yet. 'Everybody knows about SRK's whims and fancies. He hasn't said yes to my film as yet, which is why the casting is still open and I will be meeting other actors.'

Schrader has watched 110 Hindi films and realized that there is a lot of sexual content in Hindi films. About his own Bollywood film, he says, 'It's a complete Bollywood masala flick, replete with the song and dance routine. Mushtaq Sheikh is my screenwriter. Indian films have a lot of sex these days. New York had John in the buff and Kambakkht Ishq had some sizzling kissing scenes between Kareena and Akshay. That is why I have asked Mushtaq not to tone down anything, though I might have an international cut for the film.'

His untitled film will be shot in Mumbai, which he describes as a strange sight. 'You see tall buildings with a slum squeezed in between. You know, it's a romantic sight for a filmmaker.' Paul Schrader is in town for the MAMI festival. He has written iconic films like Taxi Driver and Raging Bull, among others.

It will be Shruti Ulfat and not Renuka Shahane, who will play the wife of Shahrukh Khan in Red Chillies' Fauji 2, on COLORS.

Shruti Ulfat makes a comeback to television with Fauji 2 (Red Chillies Idiot Box production), which is to launch on COLORS in early 2010.

Telly Buzz had earlier reported that Renuka Shahane had almost been finalized to play the wife of the elder Abhimanyu Singh aka Shahrukh Khan in the show. However, the latest is that Shruti Ulfat has bagged the coveted role, opposite the Badshah.

Confirming this to Telly Buzz,
Shruti Ulfat says, "Yes, I play Dr. Madhu Rai who is the wife of the elder Abhimanyu Singh which is to be played by Shahrukh. I am looking forward to working with him (smiles). Pulkit Samrat will be playing our son, and is the lead of the show".

We tried calling Renuka Shahane, but she was unavailable.

Our attempts to get in touch with Bhavna Sresth, Creative Head, Red Chillies were in vain.

As reported earlier by Telly Buzz, Roopal Tyagi will play the parallel lead in the show. Ankeeta Bharrgava has also been finalized to play an important role. The female lead of the show has not been finalized, and is tipped to enter only after the first twenty episodes.

The show has already gone on floors, and is expected to launch after Bigg Boss ends, at a biweekly slot over the weekends.

Ever since Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan had their historic squabble at Katrina Kaif's birthday party last year, the girl has carried the cross of the untoward incident. And every time she even bumps into SRK accidentally, the media has a field day putting their meeting under a microscope. Katrina isn't complaining about this. But it is a matter of consternation for her.

In the last week, she bumped into the Badshah of Bollywood on two occasions — at Subhash Ghai's wedding anniversary and Sussanne Khan's birthday party, on October 24 and 25 respectively. And media reports that followed both events only spoke of her interaction with SRK, almost making it seem like an aberration. "I fail to understand why people must constantly focus on just one aspect of an event,'' says Kat. "I'm not complaining because I know that if you are in the eye of the media, it only means that you are important enough to them. However, my bumping into Shah Rukh or spending time with him at an event is just a regular thing. I think people should stop trying to look for controversy in every nook and cranny. All of us are here to work. And we have common functions to attend. Naturally, when we're under the same roof, we will interact. Why make a fuss? Who wouldn't want to associate with Shah Rukh or Karan Johar?''

She is aware that controversies don't carry a star through. "After four years in the industry, I know fully well that if your work doesn't speak for you, everything else is inconsequential," admitted Katrina. "Believe me, I'm not excited about being in the paper everyday, or on TV, unless there is something in my career worth talking about. Media hype and publicity can't sustain a star for long. It's like an air balloon that can be pricked anytime... and will go phut.''

Wanting to take her career to the next level, Katrina is keen to associate with makers like Karan Johar. Once again she isn't looking for any smart-alec remarks on how she is switching camps. "Karan thinks out of the box. On the one hand, he makes a Dostana and then a path-breaking film like Wake Up Sid. Naturally, I'd like to do a film for his banner. Likewise, working with Adi is a pleasure. He has a young unit and they work with clockwork precision. Doing a film for them is being on a school camp, but completely result oriented.''

Having said that, Katrina still knows that she has achieved just 20 per cent of what actresses like Kareena Kapoor have. "Honestly, I have no illusions about where I'm positioned,'' said the pragmatic girl. "I'm nobody's fool and for the moment, all I want is to do is some good work.''

Shahrukh Khan ist mit seinen 44 Jahren der mit Abstand größte Filmstar der Welt, und trotzdem fragen in Deutschland immer noch viele "Shahrukh WER?". Shahrukh Khan, with its 44 years by far the biggest film star in the world, and yet still many questions in Germany, "Shah Rukh WHO?". Doch das ist nur hierzulande so: 3,2 Milliarden Menschen auf der Welt kennen seinen Namen, mit Tom Cruise But that is only in this way: 3.2 billion people around the world know his name, with Tom Cruise können zum Beispiel nur 2,7 Milliarden etwas anfangen. can, for example, only 2.7 billion to good use. Er ist ein Multitalent, spielt in Filmen, führt Regie, produziert, moderiert die indische Ausgabe von "Wer wird Millionär" und macht mit Werbung für Pepsi und Nokia 25 Millionen Euro im Jahr. He is a multitalented, playing leads in films, directed, produced, hosted the Indian edition of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" and does advertising for Pepsi and Nokia 25 million euros per year.

1965 in Neu-Delhi geboren, verlor er früh seine Eltern und kämpfte sich seitdem alleine durchs Leben. Born in 1965 in New Delhi, he lost his parents early on and fought his way through life alone since then. Seinem großen Traum, Schauspieler zu werden, kommt er Ende der 80er mit ersten TV-Nebenrollen näher, bis er nach und nach zum größten Filmstar Asiens wird. His great dream of becoming an actor, he comes closer to the end of the 80 first TV supporting roles, until he gradually becomes the biggest movie star in Asia. Er spielte böse Buben und Schönlinge, aber das Publikum hat ihn am liebsten als romantischen Helden. He played bad guys and handsome, but the audience liked him as a romantic hero. Längst ist er auch in Deutschland ein Begriff, spätestens seit er 2008 seinen Film "Om Shanti Om" auf der Berlinale vorstellte und beide Vorstellungen innerhalb von sieben (!) Minuten ausverkauft waren. He is in Germany too long a term, at least since 2008 goes his film 'Om Shanti Om presented at the Berlinale, and the two ideas within seven (! Sold out) minutes were. So oder so ähnlich klingen die Heldengeschichten, die dieses Buch beschreibt. Either way sounds like the heroes of stories, this book describes.

Fazit: Conclusion:

Für dieses Buch ist jedes Detail von enormer Wichtigkeit. For this book, every detail is of enormous importance. Unfortunately, while it also continually jumps between scenes: the story of the beautiful Shahrukh starts with a sketch of the Pashtun Muslims who jumps on a dusty road in India in the 70s and returns to the author, who broods over his tape recorder. Klingt Verwirrend? Sounds confusing? Und wie. And how.

Shahrukh true fans know everything that they had never asked - for example, that Khan is a big example, the American actor Michael J. Fox, and that can not curse the Bollywood star. Für diejenigen, die sich noch nicht mit dem Phänomen Shahrukh Khan auskennen, ist das Gespringe zwischen den Zeitebenen und Filmen allerdings eher ermüdend als unterhaltsam. For those who are not yet familiar with the phenomenon Shahrukh Khan, the convers Inge between the layers of time and movies but in a rather tiresome than entertaining.

Man spürt mit jedem Wort, wie sehr der Autor Shahrukh Khan verehrt. You can feel every word, as much admired the author Shahrukh Khan. It is not a critical word, but phrases like: "When he was the first time in Mumbai, Shah Rukh had entgegengebrüllt the sky promise. In desperation, he arrived here, and what followed was a hellish week. A fruitless search in the foreign and heartless streets of the city. In tears, full of bitterness, he then shouted over the Marine Drive: 'One day I shall rule over this city. "Stellenweise wirkt das Buch damit nicht wie eine glaubwürde Biographie, sondern wie das Drehbuch eines Bollywood-Films. In places the book does not act so as a credible biography, but as the script of a Bollywood film.

Für Fans ist "Sha Rukh Can" wahrscheinlich eine echte Offenbarung, alle anderen können das Büchlein aber auch ruhig im Bücherregal stehen lassen. For fans, "Sha Rukh Can" probably a real revelation, everyone else can leave the book but also quiet in the bookcase.

Since then, Kareena has done item numbers for Shah Rukh in Don and Billu... and sort of restored their screen rapport. Now comes confirmation that she's doing his home production, Ra.One, where SRK plays a superhero and does things like flying through the sky to save mankind.

But the leading lady's role is substantial as well and Kareena has scope to perform stunts like she's never done before. The project goes on the floors this December. Shooting will be held in the US until January, followed by a long stint in Mumbai.

Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan will be the star attraction at this year's Delhi Half Marathon to be held on November 1 here.

"Shah Rukh Khan will be coming for the event. He has given his confirmation," Dilip Jayram, COO, Procam Internationals, the promoters of the event, said.

"There will be lot more Bollywood and sports celebrities during the event. We will let you know as the time progresses," he added.

The organisers said it would be mandatory for all the participants in the 'Half Marathon' category to wear a specially designed timing chip on their legs to generate authentic results.

Vivek B Singh, Joint Managing Director of Procam International, said a time certificate would be issued on the basis of the result generated.

"The chip will generate all information about the player like who is he, which country is he from, in which race he is participating, how many breaks he took during the race and his final timing. This whole concept is unique in itself," Singh said.

Hugh Jones, the Technical Director of the event, said the event had been oversubscribed with entries much before its scheduled closing and this is the testimony of the fact that race had become an established brand.

"This is indicative how things have changed for this event in these five years. The race has attracted great athletics and has gained international reputation. The IAAF has conferred Gold Label status to our three races," Jones said.

"A total of 100 elite athletes have confirmed their participation, which include 23 men and 26 women from international circuit and 16 women from India," he said.

Ashok Omar, Medical Director of the race, said to ensure the well being of the participants, six medical stations along the route and one base medical station would be set up to be manned by 120 doctors.

"Besides them, nurses and other support staff will be there to take care in case any medical emergency arises. There will also be seven fully equipped ambulances with ventilators stationed along the route to ensure prompt action. Each station will be made interconnected through cell phones," Omar said.

Elaborating on the arrangements, Singh said there will be a total of 13 water stations along the route to keep the participants hydrated and about 80,000 litres of water will be distributed through these water stations. Around 250 private security guards and 650 volunteers will coordinate with traffic and civil police to ensure smooth conduct of the race.

It's time for patch-ups in Bollywood, a few months ago Kareena Kapoor had resolved her differences with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and now it's Shah Rukh Khan's turn to do the same but with fellow actor Sunny Deol.

It took both the actors almost 16 years to patch up. The two were last seen in Yash Chopra's film Darr and it is reported that during its filming olny the two got into a fight and had not spoken since then.

And the person responsible for the patch up is none other than director Subhash Ghai, who hosted a party on Saturday night where both Shah Rukh and Sunny Deol were invited.

According to reports, Subhash re-itroduced the two and the actors apparently shook hands and ended up chatting for a long time.

Katrina hobnobbed all night with Shah Rukh, Shilpa Shetty couldn't stop showing off her engagement ring and Gauri Khan danced enthusiastically till the cops came in and repeatedly asked host Hrithik to stop the loud music late on Sunday night

Shah Rukh Khan

Gauri Khan

A near stampede resulted outside Hrithik Roshan's building Palazzio, Juhu late on Sunday night when Hrithik threw a party to celebrate his wife Sussanne's birthday. The who's who of Bollywood attended the do and a throng of fans stood outside the gate to catch a glimpse of their favourite stars.

Guests at the party included Shah Rukh-Gauri Khan, Saif-Kareena, Katrina Kaif, Karan Johar, Parmeshwar Godrej, Tusshar Kapoor, Arjun Rampal-Mehr Jesia, Chunky-Bhavna Pandey, Shilpa Shetty-Raj Kundra, Zayed Khan, Kajal Anand, Neelam, Kunal Kapoor, Vicky-Gayatri Oberoi, Sonali-Goldie Behl and Farah Ali Khan, amongst others.

Ritesh Deshmukh and Genelia D'Souza came in together, as did Dino Morea and his now on-now off girlfriend, designer Nandita Mahtani. While Gauri Khan was having a great time dancing, Shah Rukh, who came in an hour after her, was in a rather sober mood. Parmeshwar Godrej was in high spirits and was one of the last guests to leave the party.

Hrithik looked dapper, as usual, in a black shirt and blue jeans, while Sussanne complemented his attire with an elegant black dress.

Incidentally, Hrithik's favourite co-star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan did not attend the party. A source close to the Roshans said, "Abhishek was busy shooting, hence Aishwarya decided not to come."

Hrithik's good friend Priyanka Chopra was also absent. The actress's official spokesperson said, "Priyanka could not attend Hrithik's party because she wasn't feeling too well due to food poisoning."

Unlike most parties where Ameesha is usually accompanied by her boyfriend Kanav Puri, this time she came alone and looked quite lost.

A rather plump looking Katrina Kaif managed to raise quite a few eyebrows by hobnobbing with boyfriend Salman Khan's arch rival Shah Rukh Khan. A close friend of Salman said, "Never before have we seen Katrina get along so well with Shah Rukh. Has she broken up with Salman?"

When we asked why Hrithik's sister Sunaina did not attend the party, the source said, "Sunaina is a loner."

Since Shilpa got engaged to Raj on Saturday night, everybody wanted to have a look at her huge ring. "Shilpa proudly showed it to almost everybody who was around. She was the centre of attraction all evening," added the source.

The revelry ended on an unpleasant note when an irate neighbour complained about the loud music reverberating from the building's 10th floor where the party was on in full swing. A few cops reached the venue but failed to take stock of the situation. They had to call senior police inspector Sawant who asked Hrithik to mellow down.

Actor-director Farhan Akhtar has confirmed that he will make the sequel of his super hit film, Don. And, Shah Rukh Khan will be playing the lead role this time too

"I will be making Don-2 for sure. I will start it by September next year. The cast will be more or less the same," filmmaker Farhan told Headlines Today.

He said, "More or less the same cast will be there in the movie." So, Priyanka Chopra will be hunting for the don in the sequel too.

In fact, Farhan admitted that Don-2 would have been in the theatres had it not been for SRK's shoulder injury.

"The movie was supposed to go on the floors quite early. But due to SRK's injury it got delayed," Farhan said.

Farhan's Don had a very refreshing climax and surely Don-2 would have something even more interesting to offer.

Karan Johar had Kurbaan's plot ready way back in 2001. He had named the film Kaal and it had an entirely different star
Still from Kurbaan

Still from Kurbaan
cast

The soon to be released Kurbaan could have hit the theatres six to seven years ago. Producer Karan Johar had the plot in mind and all the essential details were in place too. The original cast included Shah Rukh Khan, Tabu and Sanjay Dutt and the film was supposed to be directed by Nikhil Advani.

However, due to several undisclosed reasons, Karan could not make the film at that time. He went on to direct Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham in 2001 and later produced Kal Ho Naa Ho, which was directed by Nikhil Advani in 2003. Now, almost seven years after Karan first penned the film's plot, his longstanding dream Kurbaan has finally taken shape with Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Vivek Oberoi in lead roles.

Talking about the film, Karan Johar said, "The story that I had seven years ago (after K3G) was the one I wanted Nikhil Advani to direct with Shah Rukh Khan, Tabu and Sanjay Dutt. Ironically it was called Kaal, which was later the title of the film directed by Soham Shah. The earlier Kaal never got made. After I narrated the story to Rensil, the screenplay that he structured resulted in an altogether different film, Kurbaan. Saif and Kareena were first choice for this film and have become an indispensable part of it."

While the forthcoming film has been written and directed by Rensil D'silva, the story's credit still remains with Karan Johar.

Subhash Ghai ended the 16-year-long cold war between Shah Rukh Khan and Sunny Deol
Shah Rukh Khan

on Saturday

Lately, Shah Rukh Khan might have had serious issues with several people from the film industry but the first actor who he had an ego clash with was Sunny Deol way back in 1993. Now, the two actors have patched up 16 years after they had a huge fight during the making of Yash Chopra's Darr. They finally buried the hatchet during a party on Saturday night and the man responsible for the patch up was host Subhash Ghai.

A source present at the party said, "Shah Rukh had come in earlier in the evening and he was sitting in one of the private sections at the party venue with Karan Johar and his other friends. Sunny Deol was accompanied by director Neeraj Pathak, who he was chatting with, when Ghai suddenly went up to the reticent actor and took him to the private section. Ghai headed straight to Shah Rukh and reintroduced the two warring actors.

SRK and Sunny shook hands and gradually warmed up to each other and were later seen chatting animatedly with lyricist Prasoon Joshi."

Commenting on the SRK-Sunny animosity, the source added, "Sunny was probably the first one among the long list of people that Shah Rukh has had a problem with over the years. Sunny had such a big issue that after Darr he completely stopped speaking to Shah Rukh and Yash Chopra. The two actors have buried the hatchet after so many years."

According to the source, Sunny left the party early and when the clock struck midnight, SRK's friends gathered around him to celebrate his and Gauri's wedding anniversary, which was yesterday.

Come October 30 and Doha will see Hollywood-Bollywood fusion at its

best.

How else do you explain a possible meeting between Oscar-winning film-maker Danny Boyle and Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan? Together, the duo will be attending the Doha 21st Century Leaders Award. Earlier, it was reported that SRK has been approached for Bombay Velvet, a film that was supposed to be directed by Anurag Kashyap and produced by Danny Boyle. Though there's no official announcement on that front, the actor and the film-maker will be at their social best at the event.

When asked about meeting SRK, Danny's spokesperson wrote in an email to CT, "Danny and Christian and also Shah Rukh Khan will all be attending the 21st Century Leaders event in Doha on Friday 30. It's going to be a fantastic event, happening in conjunction with the Doha Tribeca Film Festival and Reach Out To Asia, which Danny, Christian and Shah Rukh are all attending in support of these various charitable endeavours and their own not-for-profit work." Josh Hartnett, Sir Ben Kingsley and film-makers Danny Boyle and Christian Colson are reportedly amongst the first recipients of Doha 21st Century Leaders awards.

Never mind that his production house Dharma Productions has just delivered a big hit in "Wake Up Sid". Director-producer Karan Johar says he has
matured over the years and box office collections are no longer the only driving factor for him.

"Frankly, I am over and above box office today. With age and some dose of maturity coming in, I truly believe that I have grown as a filmmaker and hence I am not just looking at crores out there," Karan , 37, told IANS in an interview.

Karan has half a dozen films lined up for release in the months to come. After "Wake Up Sid", debutant Rensil D'Souza's "Kurbaan" is next. He is also speeding up Tarun Mansukhani's animation flick "Koochie Koochie Hota Hai" and "Dostana 2".

Siddharth Malhotra's "Stepmom" remake is already on floors while debutant director Punit Malhotra's "I Hate Love Stories" is in pre-production stage. Newcomer Karan Malhotra has been entrusted with directing an "Agneepath" remake.

Karan's own directorial venture "My Name Is Khan" would be releasing in early 2010.

With so many projects in the pipeline, is it really easy for him not to think about box office collections?

"I guess numbers just get lost after a point in time while the quality of a product is remembered. I have learnt that the remembrance a film gets is far more important than what you end up gaining in the first weekend.

"A living example is 'Wake Up Sid'. Yes, it opened well but what is even more heartening is that it is still being loved and watched weeks after its release. That excites me," said Karan.

His claim comes with enough validation here. After the mega Diwali weekend that saw "Blue", "All The Best" and "Main Aurr Mrs. Khanna" fighting for screen space, "Wake Up Sid" was kept on hold. The Ranbir Kapoor-Konkona Sen Sharma-starrer did have two bountiful weeks.

Karan is happy to be following the mantra of making quality films without worrying much about the cash register.

No wonder many first-time filmmakers working with him are happy to be in an environment that challenges and motivates them to make something worth remembering.

"I never ask my directors to give me a film that would fetch me Rs.80, 100 or 120 crore. Once you do that, you only end up putting pressure on the poor guy. Instead, I want them to focus entirely on the subject in front of them and leave the box office in the hands of audiences.

"This is what Ayan Mukerji did with 'Wake Up Sid' and look at how he has passed with flying colours, both critically and commercially," said Karan with a tone of appreciation.

Aftab Shivdasani's wish for Aao Wish Karein has come
Aamna Sharif and Aftab Shivdasani in a still from the movie

Aamna Sharif and Aftab Shivdasani in a still from the movie
true.

This being his first movie as a producer, the actor wanted everything to be perfect. So, when the movie made under the banner of Mumbai Mantra and Rising Sun Entertainment was completed they wanted someone special to do the voice over. Aftab and director Glenn Baretto wanted Shah Rukh Khan to do the needful. Though they were hesitant whether King Khan would accept their request, they were in for a big surprise. "I went on the sets of My Name is Khan, and requested him that this being my first film, I would want him to do a voice over. He agreed immediately. For me that was such a honour," says Aftab. Director Baretto believes that SRK's voice has made a huge difference to the movie. "People don't need to see him to recognise his voice. It's right at the beginning of the movie and will hold the audiences' attention," he adds.

The movie that is about a 12-year-old boy who makes a wish to grow-up overnight, will hit the theatres on November 13. Aftab, who besides playing the lead and producing the film, has also co-written the story, says, "I have been living with the character for two years. Of course, doing three things at a time on one project is difficult, but I had a great team to support me."

Vaswani's film has been postponed indefinitely leaving Khan with a 'no-film' year

Looks like there won't be any SRK release this year after all. The Shah Rukh Khan-Sushmita Sen starrer Dulha Mil Gaya has once again landed in trouble. The film that was earlier supposed to release on November 13 has been postponed indefinitely.

After SRK's detention at an US airport earlier this year, producer Viveck Vaswani had declared a Trinidad premiere for the film. But it seems like the film is still not ready for release in Trinidad or anywahere else in the world.

The film so far has been in constant trouble. Earlier the producers couldn't find buyers for the film. Thankfully, Reliance came forth. Then SRK due to lack of dates couldn't shoot for the film and delayed it in the process. On Vaswani's insistence Khan completed the shoot finally in February this year. But according to industry insiders, some portions of the film are still to be incomplete.

When contacted, producer Viveck Vaswani said, "I am presently in London sitting across the table with global distributors and deciding the best date torelease the film. We need to make the film the biggest hit of the year. A joint decision will be taken soon. A new multiplex is opening in Trinidad and all six screens will open with Dulha Mil Gaya. This will be a grand world premiere."

We can only wait for Viveck to return and declare the final date for the release.

Upcoming actress Shazahn Padamsee is perhaps the luckiest girl around. She got the chance to make Bollywood debut with Ranbir Kapoor in Rocket Singh, and that too by Chak De India director Shimit Amin. It was rumoured she has a kiss sequence with the latest heartthrob.

Buzz As if that is not enough, she got a warm hug from non other than Bollywood Baadshah Shahrukh Khan. It happened while shooting for a commercial with the superstar. Shazahn is all praise for King Khan. She said that he is so humble and spoke about several interesting incidents that took place during the shooting of Chak De India. They talked about how calm Shimit is on the sets and also had good laughter. She added that she had asked him to watch her film and give his feedback on her performance.

The Bollywood badshaah is all set to produce a film, to be directed by radio and television host Roshan Abbas. The film is an adaptation of a play Roshan had written and directed in 1999 called Graffiti about life at high school.

Roshan informs a daily, "SRK is just producing the film. My film stars four fresh new faces, one among them is Zoa (daughter of Karim Morani) who is making her debut with this film. We are still finalising some of the cast members and as of now have some known names too like Archana Puran Singh, Satish Shah etc. playing vital roles."

Talking about what the film will be based on, he said, "The film is an adaptation of a play I had written and directed way back in 1999 called `Graffiti` about life at high school. That play was set in '99 and this film is set in 2009 so it's but obvious that I would be having some elements which the youth of today connect with one of them being social networking sites such as Facebook. However, beyond that there is no real connection. The film is set in a high school and will try to capture the various emotions such as love, jealousy, pride that one goes through during school days. I believe some of the best days of our life are the ones that we spend in high school and it is this period of one`s life that the film will portray."

SRK's last production venture was Billu, which starred Irrfan Khan and Lara Dutta.

He came, he saw, and he made friends with the biggest names in Bollywood. Last week, after Shah Rukh Khan hosted a party in his honour, Jermaine Jackson, the brother of the late King of Pop, is all praises for King Khan's hospitality. "His party was good fun. The food was amazing and I interacted with several Bollywood stars. Priyanka Chopra is very beautiful," he says. About his growing friendship with King Khan, he says, he found SRK "humble and nice." He adds, "Shah Rukh and I are planning a holiday together when he comes down to the US."

Prior to his first India visit, Jermaine's one-point contact in Bollywood was his ex-Big Brother housemate Shilpa Shetty. "Shilpa's like a sister to me and we were each other's support throughout the show. We kept in touch even after the show ended," he says.

Having been in India for three weeks now, the singer is happy at the successful completion of the video, which brought him here. "I wrote this song, Let's go to crystal city that we later changed to Let's go to Mumbai city. We shot the video in different locations across Mumbai. It was a great experience to see the Taj Mahal Hotel, the Gateway of India, the slums and railway stations. We even went to a mosque," he says.

Having worked on the video with musician Adnan Sami, he says, "I'd [originally] planned to do this song with my brother, Michael."

If thespian Dilip Kumar's film `Mughal-E-Azam' ran at Maratha Mandir for over six years, Shah Rukh Khan-starrer `Dilwale Dulhaniya Le
Jayenge' has completed 14 years of continuous run at the same theatre. The film enters its 15th year on Tuesday at Maratha Mandir and the exhibitor is quite optimistic that the theatre will have a houseful board.

Managing director of Maratha Mandir, Manoj Desai, said, "The film completes 14 years in our cinema hall and we still get at least 60-70% occupancy on weekdays and a houseful board on weekend and holidays. Whoever claims that it is not doing well can come and check our cinema hall.''

Desai added, "Even Dilip Kumar's `Mughal-E-Azam' had a record run at Maratha Mandir before we took over the cinema hall. The film ran for nearly six years and the first three years in full shows. `Mughal-E-Azam' released in Maratha Mandir with bookings for seven weeks before the first show of the film.''

One of the main reasons DDLJ still gets an audience is the ticket pricing. Manager Ramesh Vajpayee says, "Balcony tickets are for Rs 22, Dress circle for Rs 20 and stall tickets for Rs 18.''

Desai said, "Yashraj gives us the rental and we do good enough business for both of us to be satisfied.''

Ramesh Sippy's `Sholay' ran at Minerva theatre for more than five years. `Sholay' was the first film to celebrate silver jubilee at over 100 theatres. The film released on August 15, 1975, and cinema hall did not open its current booking for nearly 75 weeks.

Trade analyst Amod Mehra recalls spending only Rs 2.50 paise to watch `Sholay' at Minerva. He said, "The era when films ran for weeks, months or years will never return. We don't even hear of a film completing a silver jubilee (25 weeks) at a cinema.''

Strangely, not many know that Ashok Kumar's anti-hero film, `Kismet', that released in 1943 ran for nearly three years in Mumbai and Kolkata theatres. It was with this film that Ashok Kumar became the most sought-after actor.

Earlier we had it that Shah Rukh Khan has a production venture in his kitty. The movie is said to be titled 'Always Kabhi Kabhi' and will be a directorial debut of Roshan Abbas, who is an active theatre personality and radio guru.

'Always Kabhi Kabhi' will be a launch pad for four new faces and among them will be Zoa, daughter of Karim Morani. Zoa is said to have earlier assisted noted filmmakers Farah Khan and Rajkumar Santoshi and also had played a blink-and-miss role in 'Om Shanti Om'. On the other hand the movie will be produced by SRK's Red Chillies Entertainment and Cineyug's Morani brothers. While the other cast of the movie are still to be finalised, the likes of Archana Puran Singh and Satish Shah are said to be in this.

However the director rubbishes the rumours of the movie to be based on social networking sites. "The film is an adaptation of a play I had written and directed way back in 1999 called 'Graffiti' about life at high school. That play was set in '99 and this film is set in 2009 so it's but obvious that I would be having some elements which the youth of today connect with one of them being social networking sites such as Facebook. The music of 'Always Kabhi Kabhi' will be handled by Pritam whereas the shooting will start next month.

The honorary award - a fifth degree black belt in taenwondo (a form of martial arts that originated in Korea) - was presented to King Khan on Thursday by the South Korean embassy in Mumbai.

At the event, which took place in Taj Lands End hotel, King Khan was also given another special honour for his his work as "ambassador in culture and tourism."

This is the third time King Khan has received an international honour.

Last year, the actor received the honourary title of "Datuk" from the Malaysian government while earlier this year, in July, he was conferred with an honourary doctorate in arts and culture by Bedfordshire University in London for his contribution to art and cinema.

According to a close friend of the actor, the latest honour was, however, totally unexpected and left him flabbergasted.

"SRK was shocked when he heard that the South Korean government was presenting him with an honourary black belt degree. He was very excited and felt very humbled as he realized that he is going to be the recipient of such a prestigious honour," the source said.

However, King Khan said he is not quite ready to quit his lover boy image and don the image of an action hero. "Thanks to the Consulate General, I feel like I know Taekwondo. But I plan to stick to romance and utilise both my hands perfectly first," he said.

Phew! We suppose Bollywood star Akshay Kumar (who is a real black belt holder in karate) will not be having sleepless nights, after all.

Yasin Khan with his fashionably bald pate is one of the most recognised faces in Bollywood's bodyguard circuit. The son of a retired cop, trained as a bodyguard, determined to protect none other than Shah Rukh Khan. With the steadfast loyalty of a devotee, he waited out seven months, landing up at Mumbai's Mannat, before his idol SRK gave in. Today, he can be seen hovering around SRK 24x7. A petulant SRK complained bitterly when Yasin wasn't granted a visa to accompany him to the US. Insiders say that King Khan recently bought him a flat in Mumbai.

It's a dream job for many men with muscle. But it's not easy being a Bollywood bodyguard. The strongmen must protect their celebrities from overenthusiastic fans, lecherous louts and malicious stalkers. They also have to be sensitive to the celeb's mood. Shadows of celebrities, they are privy to every little move their charges make. Bodyguards must also know the delicate art of keeping secrets. Which is what led to Gurmeet Singh Shera - bodyguard to Bollywood's enfant terrible Salman Khan - falling out for a brief while with the star. The beefy Shera, who runs a security agency named Tiger Security, fell foul of Salman when he got drunk and spilled the beans on some closely guarded secrets. Salman booted him out. After a sobered Shera profusely apologised, the superbrat with a heart relented.

As Bollywood star couple Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri sashayed down the ramp together for the grand finale of the HDIL India Couture Week, they
stole hearts with their chemistry.
( Watch Video )

This was the first time the star couple walked together on the ramp for their friend and filmmaker Karan Johar who in collaboration with designer Varun Bahl presented his men's wear collection Friday.

Apart from them, Bollywood's young brigade, Imran Khan and Ranbir Kapoor, also strutted down the ramp.

Cheering for all of them were Hrithik Roshan and Suzanne, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor, Preity Zinta, Kajol, Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar, Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor, Yash Chopra, Jaya Bachchan, Anupam Kher and Uday Chopra.

"Oh, they looked wonderful together. It didn't look like Gauri was walking the ramp for the first time, as she was walking with confidence. It was a great show," Deepika told IANS.

Johar's collection was glamorous and targeted at today's young generation. "The line is basically formal but has a rock star feel to it. But it is completely wearable," said Johar. Black dominated the colour palette and the line had everything, from stylish shirts, sherwanis, coats to hot-pants, slim fit trousers and waistcoats.

The duo had also designed shoes and bags to go with the collection.

Jermaine Jackson is taking back a lot from India. He gorged on Indian food, especially the spicy kind, explored Mumbai and Agra in their full glory, and yes, even partied with King Khan!

Jermaine Jackson finds the Badshah of Bollywood is like the (late) King of Pop.

"I think he is simply great," Jermaine gushes about Shah Rukh Khan. "Someone who has so much success and still is so humble. He reminds me of my brother Michael -- he is so kind and so nice. He deserves everything in the world," he says.

While it is wife Halima Rashid who has influenced the singer-performer in watching Bollywood movies ("she is so into Indian music and movies that she has helped me identify Indian names now"), Jermaine reveals his favourite is Devdas. "I loved Devdas and I loved the house shown in the movie. I thought it actually existed and
enquired about it too. Then I was told that it was actually a built-up set," he laughs.

Unlike a lot of westerners who end up choking on spicy food of the subcontinent, Jermaine seems to be an exception. "The way Indians cook has a lot of similarity with the way we cook. That's the reason black Americans always frequent the Indian restaurants which are in plenty in the States. I love the spicy food here, especially the samosas, naan and mango chutney," ends Jermaine who had come to India for his video Let's Go to Mumbai City.

Pics: Shah Rukh, Gauri dazzle on the ramp

One couldn't have asked for a better Diwali eve. Bollywood's Baadshah Shah Rukh Khan and his Begum Gauri Khan walked the ramp together for the first time ever. The couple was the showstopper of their good friend Karan Johar's finale show at the HDIL India Couture Week.

Joining them on the ramp were the two heartthrobs Imran Khan and Ranbir Kapoor dressed in black. KJo launched his clothing line along with designer Varun Bahl at the finale.

Themed 'Rock Star', the show began with Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan, sashaying down the runway and ended with with SRK and wife Gauri Khan walking the ramp as showstoppers.

Bollywood certainly ruled the ramp at the India Couture week, as on an earlier occassion Salman Khan too managed to rope in half of the film industry to walk the ramp for his Being Human show at HDIL India Couture Week.

'I find it silly to talk about Salman'

"None of you know the real me yet". That was Shah Rukh Khan's message to the media, as he geared up to become the brand ambassador of the Korean Tourism Board. As a part of the promotion, Shah Rukh Khan was also awarded an honorary black belt in taekwondo (a martial arts form in Korea).

Speaking at the event, Khan said he could never get bored of awards and recognition. "I am still like a child who seeks attention. So even if people accuse me of buying awards, it doesn't matter. I am happy to receive them. It's all in appreciation of my work over the last two decades." Shah Rukh said as more and more countries focused on India, Indians needed to be more accommodating towards other cultures, both within and outside the country.

Shah Rukh further added that the underlying message in any martial arts form was peace and love. He was all praise for Akshay Kumar. "Akki is unbelievable in martial arts and is a terrific ambassador of the sport." However when asked if he would extend the same love to a certain Salman Khan; this is what he had to say.

"I find it silly talking about Salman. The media is giving far more importance to these so-called wars, than the stars themselves. All of us are secure in our space and just trying to do our own work. Beyond a certain stage none of us needs cheap publicity to promote our films".

Shah Rukh said he was bored of the same gossip being churned out again and again. "I am sure my friends from the media are also tired of these questions. But there is always some new journalist out there who doesn't want to be left behind and digs out the same old stuff."

Khan added, "Just like I need to work on fresher scripts, even the media needs to come up with newer beats. Try some positive stories and trust me you will have a huge response. Given our experience, the media can engage Bollywood stars for some really thought provoking insightful stories – instead of the same gossip. But I am an entertainer, so if writing about me entertains anyone, please go ahead."

About his ramp walk Shah Rukh said, "I don't even know what I am wearing. My wife is the biggest star on the ramp. I am just walking on the side for her friend Karan Johar." Shah Rukh said he had immense respect for Salman Khan's Being Human and wished the actor was given credit for the foundation rather than his fashion show.

Shah Rukh signed off on a lighter note by saying, "For the last 15 years it seems I am fighting with someone or the other. Makes me wonder if I am a bad person. But I live in a house full of so much love and 99 per cent of the time even the media has been so nice to me, I think I have done fine. Please try to know more about my films. Else don't mess with me. Remember I have a black belt."
